Doug never coloured within the lines as a child and his 14 years as a Behaviour Therapist provided him with an in-depth understanding of human and organizational potential. He has consulted with a broad range of local, national and international corporations and organizations across North America, Europe, and Asia. His mantra is simple: do business as if people matter.
Doug has written over 157 articles connecting leadership, resiliency, well-being and work culture to business success. He has been cited as a top contributor to both Forbes and Harvard Business Review online discussion forums.
Doug is also an active volunteer, fitness enthusiast and fine food lover. He has been involved with the International Red Cross, and has served on the Organizing Committee for World Cup Freestyle Skiing for 10 years. He’s sat on the board of directors for Leadership Vancouver, recently served as Board Co-Chair for the Long Beach, California based Freedom Writers Foundation and currently sits on the board of the Nanaimo Foundation and is a member of Community Impact Committee of the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce.
Doug believes in the healing power of dark chocolate and is allergic to neck ties.
